Memory & Personality
What They Remember
The bots build a memory of your server over time.
Recent Conversations
Both bots keep a short shared log of recent messages in each channel they can see, capped at 100 entries per channel. They can follow along even if they weren't directly mentioned.
Permanent Memories
Server admins can pin important facts that the bots will always remember:
/remember_r Our server mascot is a cat named Professor Whiskers
/remember_h The annual server anniversary is March 15th
These memories never expire and can come up in conversation in the channel where they were pinned. The admin who pinned them can delete them with !forget or /data-delete.
What They Learn Automatically
- Server identity - Rules and facts people mention about the server
- User names and pronouns - They know who people are
- Inside jokes - Phrases and references that come up repeatedly
- Emotional context - Who's having a good day, who's frustrated, general server mood
- Custom lore - Server-specific stories, characters, and world-building
Privacy
All memory is per-server and never reaches another server. Replies come from the server's own Compute Module first, if one is online, and otherwise from the Doombringerz hosted server. On the Doombringerz community server, Anthropic's Claude API is tried before the hosted server, so messages there are sent to Anthropic. No customer server reaches that API yet. When it opens, a customer server will need a paid plan and the consent switch on.
How Personality Works
Rascal and Halcyon share the same knowledge but express it completely differently:
| Rascal 🔥 | Halcyon 🌙 | |
|---|---|---|
| Tone | Chaotic, witty, playful, sarcastic | Calm, formal, thoughtful, genuine |
| Reactions | 😈 🍬 💥 🤪 👀 🌀 🔥 😎 💀 | 😇 ✨ 🙏 💖 🌸 🕊️ 🌟 😊 🎉 |
| Interjections | Sarcastic comments, teasing, chaos | Supportive, wise, grounding |
| Level-ups | Announces them | Announces them too (one bot posts each level-up) |
| Conflict | Stirs it up | Calms it down |
Their mood also shifts with how your community talks. A cheerful server gets a cheerier Rascal and a warmer Halcyon, and a tense one gets a sharper Rascal and a quieter Halcyon. The mood drifts back to neutral over time.
