Applications to Sylvaria are submitted through the Apply page. You will need a Discord account. All coordination happens there.
- Fill out the application. Give your roleplay background, why Sylvaria interests you, and which deity path you are considering. Honesty matters more than experience.
- Wait for review. Applications are reviewed by admins within a few days. You will be contacted via Discord when a decision is made.
- Accept your role. If accepted, an admin will assign you a Discord role and send you the server IP. Read the rules before connecting.
Cults are the primary factions of Sylvaria. Each cult follows one of the eight deity paths: Bone, Root, Void, Blood, Ember, Stone, Shadow, or Tide.
New players may join an existing cult by contacting its leader via Discord or in-game RP. Some cults require initiations or trials before granting membership. You can browse active cults on the Cults page.
Alternatively, players with enough reputation and a group of at least three may petition an admin to form a new cult. New cults must declare their deity path and a founding oath.
Relics are physical objects placed in the forest by the admin team. They represent divine artifacts tied to specific deity paths and carry lore significance and mechanical reputation bonuses for the holder's cult.
- Spawn locations are secret. The Codex shows which relics exist but not where to find them. Clues appear in event descriptions, chronicles, and admin-run Oracle events.
- Register within 24 hours. Any relic found must be reported to an admin via Discord within 24 hours, or it is voided. Include your character name and where you found it.
- Relics can be taken. In a witnessed RP confrontation, another player may claim a relic from you. This is legitimate gameplay, not griefing.
Rifts are admin-triggered supernatural events that occur without advance warning. When a rift opens, the rules of the forest change temporarily. Structures may behave differently, enemies may spawn in unusual locations, and the deity paths may manifest in observable ways.
Rifts are recorded as historical events and may generate chronicle entries. Participating in a rift event, whether surviving, completing a rift task, or witnessing a rift-related death, may earn reputation for your cult.
Sylvaria runs in seasons, each lasting approximately 4-8 weeks depending on player activity. At the end of each season, standings are finalized, the champion cult is recorded, and the forest is reset for the next cycle.
Between seasons, the admin team reviews lore outcomes, retires old characters if necessary, and seeds new relics and events for the upcoming cycle. Season transitions are announced in Discord with at least one week of notice.
Reputation, relics, and cult history from past seasons are archived in the Standings page and the Chronicles.
Reputation determines your cult's standing in the seasonal leaderboard. It is tracked per-cult and updated by admins based on:
- Relic possession. Holding registered relics grants passive reputation to your cult each day the relic is held.
- Rift participation. Completing rift objectives or surviving rift events earns reputation based on the rift's difficulty level.
- Trial victories. Winning admin-sanctioned trials earns significant reputation for the victorious cult.
- Chronicles. Published chronicles featuring your cult's deeds may earn bonus reputation at admin discretion.
Trials are formal one-on-one or team-versus-team challenges, witnessed by an admin or designated arbiter. Trials may be issued for territory, relics, or reputation. The challenged party may accept or decline, but repeated refusals may result in an automatic reputation penalty.
Wars are extended conflicts between two cults. A war must be formally declared in the presence of an admin witness. Wars run for a set duration (determined by admin) and end with a declared winner based on rift performance, trial outcomes, and relic control during the conflict period.
